Histological localization of plasminogen activator and proteolytic activity in the human stomach and duodenum.

چکیده
Plasminogen activator activity has been localized in gastric and duodenal tissue using a histological technique. This activity could be separated from proteolytic activity by incorporating in-aminocaproic acid into the fibrin substrate or by heat treatment. Plasminogen activator activity was found in relation to mucosal and submucosal blood vessels in the tissues studied. Proteolytic activity was identified in the surface epithelium, the gastric antral and fundal glands, and in the antral submucosal fat. Proximal duodenal tissue contained proteolytic activity in relation to Brunner's glands.

Contribution of Streptokinase-Domains from Groups G and A (SK2a) Streptococci in Amidolytic/Proteolytic Activities and Fibrin-Dependent Plasminogen Activation: A Domain-Exchange Study
Background: Streptokinase (SK), a heterogeneous plasminogen (PG) activator (PA) protein from groups A, C, and G streptococci (GAS, GCS, GGS, respectively) contains three structural domains (SKα, SKβ, and SKg). Based on the variable region of SKβ, GAS-SKs (ska) are clustered as SK1 and SK2 (including SK2a/SK2b), which show low and high fibrinogen (FG)-dependent PG activation properties, respecti...
متن کاملOptimizing refolding condition for recombinant tissue plasminogen activator
Low molecular size additives such as L-arginine and the redox compounds have been used both in the culturemedium and in vitro refolding to increase recombinant proteins production. Additives increase proteinrefolding and yield of active proteins by suppressing aggregate formation or enhancing refolding process. In this work, a comparative study was performed on refolding of rec...
متن کامل[Frontiers in Bioscience 10, 30-36, January 1, 2005] 30 ALPHA-ENOLASE PLASMINOGEN RECEPTOR IN MYOGENESIS
Plasmin is a potent extracellular protease specialized in the degradation of fibrin (fibrinolysis). Active plasmin is generated by proteolytic activation of the zymogen plasminogen (Plg) by urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA). Alpha-enolase, although traditionally considered a glycolytic enzyme, constitutes a receptor for plasminogen on several...
متن کاملAlu DNA Polymorphism of Human Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) Gene in Diabetic Jordanian Patients Patients
Background: Hypercoagulability and hypofibrinolysis are among the symptoms exhibited by diabetic patients. Our study aimed to address the polymorphic nature of Alu DNA fragment in the human tissue plasminogen activator gene within diabetes mellitus (DM) Jordanian patients. Methods: Genomic DNA was isolated from 76 DM patients and 60 non-diabetic Jordanian individuals, and the Alu fragment was a...
متن کاملDual frequency ultrasound-enhanced tissue plasminogen activator thrombolysis in an in vitro human clot model
Introduction: Stroke causes death and disability in patients throughout the world. At present, the only FDA- approved drug for ischemic stroke is recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt- PA). Unfortunately, rtPA can cause intracerebral hemorrhage and must use within limited time window (within 3-4.5 hour after onset of stroke). Ultrasound with rtPA loaded liposomes (rtPA_L...
